£50,000 4Joy

Pups4Joy Header

It is with great joy that I can announce that we have reached the excellent milestone amount in the 4Joy Appeal of £50,000 yes, £50,000!

The amount reached far greater than I ever anticipated. The appeal started at the end of August 2013 and I thought I would be lucky to raise £20,000 but with the excellent support of many people fundraising by doing all sorts of things, Jumping4Joy, Swimming4Joy, WashingCars4Joy, Running4Joy plus lots more or just Donating4Joy.

With the money raised we have named nine Guide Dog Pups4Joy starting with Joy (we paid for the first two years of training which cost £10,000), Fletcher, Elsie, Winnie, Charity, Craven, Sarah, Mattie and we are going to name the ninth puppy Joy, so we started the appeal with Joy and we are going to end the appeal with Joy.

Eighth Pup4Joy

It gives me great pleasure in sharing with you the latest news in our 4Joy Appeal. On the 14th November 2014 we reached another wonderful milestone by raising £45,000!

We are going to name our Eighth Guide Dog Pup4Joy Mattie and the name has been approved by the charity which is great news too.

In fact the appeal has just gone over £46,000 which is absolutely tremendous and thank you to everyone who has donated.

Fantastic News4Joy!

I would like to a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to our 4Joy Appeal.

When I set up the appeal at the end of August 2013 my aim was to raise £20,000 to name four Guide Dog Pups4Joy but I have been overwhelmed by the response and I am pleased to announce that we have now reached £30,000, yes that is right £30,000!

Instead of naming 4Pups4Joy we are now going to name 6Pups4Joy.

We already have four of the puppies being puppy walked in Swindon (Joy, Fletcher, Elsie and Winnie) and we have named two more puppies, Craven and Charity, who are waiting to be born.

Joy touched the hearts of a lot of people who met her and this has shown in this fantastic response. I cannot thank you all enough.

Fundraising News

Pups4Joy

Thank you to everyone who fundraised and donated to our 4Joy appeal during 2013.

I am pleased to announce that we met our £20,000 target at the end of 2013 which is absolutely amazing. It has been achieved thanks to your ingenuity, hard work and fantastic fundraising ideas such as Open House4Joy, Washing Cars4Joy, Swimming4Joy,ScootingToSchool4Joy and Singing4Joy to name a few.

Our first two Pups4Joy, named Joy and Fletcher are now with their respective guide dog puppy walkers in the Swindon area and are doing very well. You can find out more on the Pups4Joy page. We have named the third and fourth puppies Elsie and Winnie after Shirley’s and my mum.

A number of people are still raising funds 4Joy and because of this we have decided to carry on and try to raise enough for 5Pups4Joy or even 6Pups4Joy.

Open House 4Joy

Fundraising 4Joy

We wanted to do something for this fund which is very close to our hearts as Joy gave such a lot to my brother Alan and his wife Shirley, and was such a fantastic guide dog and companion. As a family we all  miss her too.

We decided to open our house on Sunday 24th November in aid of the 4Joy fund. We had food and drink, items for sale, a raffle as well as a silent auction, and encouraged people to donate to the fund. We were amazed and delighted that a grand total of £625 was raised on the day, with still more to come.
